Bisse de Saxon

 

Built in the 1850s, this is the longest bisse in Valais at 26 km. It is known as the king of the bisses.

 

Total length : 26 km. Count 32 km if you begin at the col des Planches.

Altitude : Between 1850 and 1500 metres.

Route time : Unless you are a very good walker, it is wise to plan two days for this walk.

Location :  Between La Boveresse (above Saxon) and Siviez (Nendaz), to the left of the Rhône.

Difficulty : No particular difficulty. In the first part after La Boversee until the La Tzoumaz the trail is very wild and receives few visitors.
